For picture desks & editors
Every image has to prove itself before it can publish — when in doubt, it doesn't get in. Each one carries the story it came from, with its proof travelling inside the file as Content Credentials. License it for editorial use in minutes — your licence is written into the file too.
Every image has to prove it came from a real camera before it can publish. Phones and unverifiable files are turned away — when in doubt, it doesn't get in.
C2PA Content Credentials — the open standard (ISO/IEC 22144) adopted by camera makers including Leica — record what made the image and what's happened to it since. Credentials that arrive with a photograph are preserved, never stripped; unsigned work is signed at publish.
Every story is pinned to where and when it was shot. Search the archive the way news happens: a location, a radius, a date window.
The Block is newly live and the archive is growing. We'd rather tell you that than perform scale. What's here is verified without exception; coverage is growing; and desk access is free — you pay only when you license. If your patch is thin today, check back — or tell us your patch and we'll tell you when it changes.
Search. Place, date window, subject. Only verified, licensable work appears.
Inspect. Every image carries its full provenance — the capture check, the credential chain, any prior licences. Expand it to any depth, or verify independently.
License. Editorial-use licence at a published rate. Pay by card; your invoice and licence document are issued instantly.
Receive a file that proves itself. Before delivery, the image is re-signed with a new Content Credential recording your licence — deal, date, terms — appended to its provenance chain. What you publish carries its own paperwork.capture record publish signature your licence
The full walkthrough, including the licence scope in plain English: how licensing works.
Published rates, no negotiation theatre. The Block brokers every licence, handles payment, and passes 95% to the photographer — which is why the work is here. Editorial-use licences only, for now: news, commentary, education.
We couldn't confirm today's live split just now — this is our standard rate; the current rate card is the source of truth.
The Block is a community of committed street and documentary photographers — people who shoot real cameras, publish sequenced stories, and pin them to the world. It exists because serious documentation deserved better than the feed. That conviction is your quality control.
Access is vetted and free. Apply in three minutes; a human reviews every application.
